Top tips to beat the heat

Struggling with the constant rise in temperatures and muggy nights this summer? Us too! Here’s some of our favourite tips to keep you cool and survive these last few weeks of summer.

Did you know our feet and ankles have pulse points which makes them sensitive to heat? This is why they’re the perfect place to start to cool down your body temperature. Simply dip your feet in cold water for a few minutes and you should feel yourself cool down. If you’re out and about, give your feet a quick spray with Promensil Cooling Spray instead and try to stay in the shade where possible. It’s the perfect item to keep in your handbag or bedside table as it draws heat away from the skin, quickly and effectively reducing skin temperature and redness.

If you need a helping hand getting off to sleep, freeze your pillowcase beforehand. Hopefully the cold will help you nod off and get that all important rest to function the next day. If you’ve got your fan on at night too, keep a bowl of ice in front of the fan and it will circulate cold air, genius!

Wondering what to wear in the unbearable heat? Opt for clothing made from breathable materials such as cotton or linen. It’s worth investing in some key pieces, if you suffer from hot flushes, you’ll find these will serve you all year around.

It might sound strange but to keep your living space cool, close windows and curtains during the day to keep the heat out and open them at night when the temperature outside has dropped. Hopefully there will be a nice breeze to cool you down too!
